TIMTOS to feature 1,000 local, foreign exhibitors

TIMTOS has already attracted about 1,000 local and foreign exhibitors from over 20 countries, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) said.

Taipei International Machine Tool Show provides a unique networking opportunity for the participants to interact with decision makers, government officials and trade professionals to develop new leads and secure business in a promising market. The visitors can explore latest designs and modern accessories in one of the fastest growing business sectors in the world. The biennial exhibition, the second largest of its kind in Asia, has already attracted over 950 local and foreign exhibitors from over 20 countries.

In order to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors and visitors registering for the show, Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1-3 and Nangang Exhibition Hall will all be in use, the organizers said.

The biennial exhibition, the second largest of its kind in Asia, has already attracted over 950 local and foreign exhibitors from over 20 countries, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) said in a statement.
The event is expected to be attended by an estimated number of 47,500 visitors, including 5,500 foreign buyers from Taiwan's major machine tool export markets such as Indonesia, Turkey, Russia, India and Brazil, the statement said.

In addition to holding one-on-one procurement meetings and seminars, the organizers will also release mobile application services and host an innovation competition, TAITRA said.


Taiwan was the world's fourth-largest exporter of machine tools in 2011, with machine tool exports reaching US$4 billion, according to government statistics.

The largest Asian machine tool exhibition is the International Machine Tool and Tools Exhibition (CIMES) in China, which drew 1,178 exhibitors and 60,218 visitors in 2010, according to that show's official website.
