STUDER AG’s 2026 annual press conference in Thun, Switzerland

Attending STUDER’s annual press conference in Thun, Switzerland was more than just another work trip — it was an experience.

There’s something about flying halfway across the world, stepping into a completely different environment, and immersing yourself in a Western industrial culture. It stretches you. It widens your perspective. You listen more carefully. You observe more closely. Somehow, all your senses are switched on.

Of course, there was the jetlag. The 20+ hours of travel. The sudden change in weather. And that constant internal battle to stay fully alert during back-to-back technical presentations.

But maybe that’s exactly what makes it powerful.

When you’re slightly out of your comfort zone, you start paying attention differently. You don’t just hear the presentations — you begin asking yourself: What are they really trying to say? What is the deeper message?

STUDER’s “Swiss Made” wasn’t just a slogan printed on slides. It was visible in the details — in the story behind Granitan®, in the precision and positioning of the new S23, in their digital direction, in their investment in apprentices, and even in the subtle cultural elements woven into the event.

That’s when I realized — the real takeaway wasn’t just the machines.

It was about understanding the strategic signals behind their Swiss Made philosophy.

Grateful for the journey, the insights, and the chance to translate those “between the lines” moments into something meaningful for our readers.

2026 ASEAN High-Performance Machining Summit Moves to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The 2026 ASEAN High-Performance Machining Summit — Autoparts, Electronics, Assembly Automation, organized by Ringier Events, a division of Ringier Trade Media Ltd., will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on March 10, 2026.

After two consecutive successful editions in Hanoi, the organizer has decided to bring the summit to Vietnam’s largest commercial and industrial hub in 2026. The move reflects Ringier Events’ continued commitment to staying close to Southeast Asia’s most active manufacturing clusters while providing greater value to delegates, sponsors, and exhibitors.

Ho Chi Minh City is widely recognized as a center for advanced manufacturing, electronics, automotive components, and precision engineering, making it an ideal location for the next chapter of the summit.

“After having the conference in Hanoi for two consecutive years, we feel that it is the right time to tap Ho Chi Minh City,” says Kathryn Elagio, Events Manager, South East Asia, Ringier Trade Media Ltd. “HCMC is centrally located near major industrial parks such as Saigon Hi-Tech Park, Long Hau Industrial Park, and Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone—home to a high concentration of electronics, automotive, and precision engineering firms. Hosting the summit here allows us to be closer to key manufacturers, technology adopters, and decision-makers in the region.”

Why Ho Chi Minh City?

For sponsors and exhibitors, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) offers unmatched access to Vietnam’s most dynamic and commercially active manufacturing ecosystem. As the country’s largest economic hub, HCMC is home to a dense concentration of end users, system integrators, OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and contract manufacturers across the automotive, electronics, precision engineering, and industrial automation sectors.

The city is strategically located near major industrial zones such as Saigon Hi-Tech Park, Long Hau Industrial Park, and Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, where multinational manufacturers and fast-growing local enterprises operate. This proximity enables sponsors and exhibitors to engage directly with decision-makers, plant managers, production engineers, and procurement teams who are actively seeking advanced machining, automation, and productivity-enhancing solutions.

Ho Chi Minh City offers:

  • A higher concentration of private-sector manufacturers, supporting faster purchasing decisions
  • A strong presence of foreign-invested enterprises, particularly from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Europe, and China
  • Excellent international and regional connectivity, making it easily accessible for ASEAN and global participants
  • A vibrant business environment that encourages face-to-face networking, technical exchanges, and partnership building

By hosting the 2026 ASEAN High-Performance Machining Summit in Ho Chi Minh City, sponsors and exhibitors can expect stronger engagement, higher-quality leads, and increased visibility among Southeast Asia’s most commercially active manufacturing audience.
